Identify the industrial use and powder form
The product portfolio lists talc powder for plastics, coatings, ceramics, rubber, and other industrial fillers. Application-specific mesh sizes are part of the buying brief. State the exact intended use and ask the supplier to identify the powder grade proposed for your trial.
- Describe the formulation or production route and why the current grade is being reviewed.
- Specify powder when that is the required feed form; the broader TDS also describes chips and lumps.
- List any application-specific qualification or documentation your organization requires before accepting a sample.
Request a size report beyond the grade label
The website refers to various grain or mesh sizes without a fixed particle distribution for every talc grade. Ask for the measured size information that supports the offered powder and agree how your size requirement will be expressed in the quotation.
- State the mesh and sieve acceptance basis or the micron distribution required by your specification.
- Ask for the test method, sample identifier, and report for the powder you will evaluate.
- Put any residue, moisture, or handling checks required by your process into the sample evaluation sheet.
Confirm brightness and composition separately
The talc reference sheet lists brightness at 90%, while the product record describes high whiteness and grade-related MgO and SiO2 checks. Request the optical method and the selected grade's composition report. A representative brightness entry is a discussion reference until the offered grade and required limits are confirmed.
- Identify the brightness or whiteness method and acceptance level used by your formulation team.
- Ask for MgO, SiO2, and any other composition results included in your buying specification.
- Request the evidence needed for your intended use and have your approval team review any missing qualification checks.
Translate the formulation trial into an order specification
Agree the test formulation and observations before evaluating the sample. Retain the sample identity, particle report, optical report, and process results together. The current product packing reference is jumbo bags, while the TDS also lists 50 kg bags. Ask the supplier to confirm the offered format and documents for the selected grade.
- Have the process owner define the formulation trial and the criteria for approval.
- Record the approved powder grade and request confirmation of the limits intended for repeat supply.
- Send required quantity, destination, bag format, unloading needs, and timing with the RFQ.
